Congrats to photographer Blake Gordon, whose nighttime snap of Sipapu Natural Bridge was picked as Photo District News’s photo of the day. “Sipapu” is a Hopi word for the portal in the ground where humankind emerged from the underworld, but as we spin through space and launch a new decade it seems more fitting to look up to the future than down to the past. Here’s hoping the stars will shine brightly and 2010 will be your best year yet.
